Terms of Use

Effective Date: July 20, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Aperio mobile application and the aperiobible.app website (together, the "Service"), operated by Aperio ("we," "us"). By downloading or using Aperio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Using Aperio

Aperio is a Bible reading and study app. You may use it without an account; an optional account adds cloud backup of your bookmarks, highlights, notes, and prayers. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and, if you create an account, of your sign-in credentials.

2. Your content

Notes, prayers, highlights, and bookmarks you create belong to you. By using optional sync, you grant us permission to store that content solely to provide the Service to you. We never sell your content or use it for advertising. You can delete your account and synced content at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).

3. Scripture and commentary

Scripture in Aperio is presented in the New Clavis Translation (NCT), an original English rendering prepared for Aperio. Clavis commentary is provided for devotional and educational purposes; it is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, and while we strive for accuracy and faithfulness to historic Christian scholarship, we make no guarantee that commentary is free of error.

4. Acceptable use

5. Intellectual property

The Aperio name, design, and original content are owned by Aperio and protected by applicable law. Scripture translations remain the property of their respective publishers and are used under their license terms.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aperio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (Aperio is free).

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, announced in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
